Precision UHPC Stone Replication for a Landmark London Development
CubeX produced bespoke UHPC cladding panels that closely matched the texture, profile and colour of the building’s original stonework. The solution allowed new architectural elements to integrate seamlessly with the existing façade while providing the strength and durability of a modern high-performance material.


Situated at one of London’s most prestigious addresses, No. 1 Knightsbridge is a landmark office development combining contemporary design with a timeless architectural character. Its refurbishment required new façade elements to be introduced without disturbing the visual continuity of the original stonework.
CubeX Industries was commissioned to develop highly specialised architectural panels capable of matching the existing façade with exceptional accuracy. Detailed rubber moulds were produced directly from the original stone profiles, faithfully capturing their distinctive texture, geometry and surface character.
These moulds were then used to cast bespoke panels in CubeX Ultra-High-Performance Concrete, with each element carefully colour-matched to the surrounding stone.


UHPC was particularly well suited to the project because its high fluidity allowed the fine details of the original stonework to be reproduced accurately, while its exceptional strength enabled the panels to be manufactured in comparatively thin and refined sections. Its dense, low-permeability structure also provides strong resistance to moisture ingress, weathering and long-term deterioration, helping the restored façade retain its appearance and performance over an extended service life.
CubeX also undertook the engineering development required to integrate the new panels with the existing reinforced-concrete structure. This included the design and coordination of fixing details, site surveys, cutting schedules and technical information required for manufacture and installation.
The work was delivered in close collaboration with the installation contractor, ensuring that the architectural intent, structural requirements and practical site conditions were considered throughout the process. The result demonstrated CubeX’s ability to combine advanced UHPC technology, precision mould-making and detailed engineering to restore architectural continuity within a prestigious London setting.
