Location – Neath Port Talbot, Wales
Project Completion: 2020

In 1969, the Margam Crematorium was built as a futuristic development in Port Talbot, Wales, and it became an iconic structure renowned for its architectural design. In 2017, Wales’ historical monuments body granted the building Grade II listed status, signifying its importance as a site of architectural and cultural heritage.
As part of ongoing renovations to the crematorium, an extension was required, and the challenge was to seamlessly match the UHPC panels with the existing structure.

The project’s success hinged on the precise replication of the original pattern, ensuring that the extension’s exterior perfectly mirrored the distinctive façade of the Grade II listed crematorium. Each UHPC panel was meticulously produced to match the exact dimensions and texture of the original building.
